About Lourdes "Lulu" Romo

Lourdes Romo was born and raised in Mexico and her art is a reflection of the rich culture of her native land. Using lush colors and vivid dreamscapes, her art captures fleeting impressions and expands them into rich moments across canvas and mural. Drawing influence from early surrealists such as Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte, crafting themes both historical and mystical, Lulu uses acrylics, pastels and watercolors to extend her self-expression into a style of art uniquely her own.

Trained at the prestigious Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Lulu studied there for several years with Antonio Lopez Vega. Later, she continued her studies by collaborating with the renowned Artemio Sepulveda. Her exhibitions have appeared in Monterey and San Miguel, Mexico as well as in the United States, including Gainesville, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg.

Residing today in North Florida, Lulu continues to take her place in the changing landscape of both Mexican and Surrealist artwork, continuing to transform the ordinary world into objects of wonder and beauty.
